If it weren’t for the pictures, I’m not sure I’d believe our wedding day has already come and gone.  It was a beautiful blur or events that began at 530am for me.  We had unbelievably gorgeous weather that Saturday, which allowed us to take all our outdoor photos before the ceremony.  We started at UW where Dan and I first met:

We then moved on to the sculpture park for quick photos on the beach:

After several hours of taking photos and traveling around in a shuttle bus, (great job wedding party!) we went back to the hotel to take some family photos:

Finally, the ceremony is about to begin and it was a very emotional time.

I can’t really describe the feeling when you walk down the aisle with your father.  In between all of the emotions of happiness and sadness, I was trying to tell myself to remember the moment, remember Dan’s face, try to smile through the tears, etc.  And just like that, the ceremony is over and we’re married.

We feel so lucky that we were able to have both our parents with us and our sisters, and close friends to share in our day.  Even though I anticipated it, nothing went wrong and the whole day was just perfect.

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes and for thinking of us.  Here’s the one professional photo we have so far- I will post them when we get the final images!

Ok ok, I know it’s been awhile.  Stuff has been hectic with the house huntin’.  But I’ve not forgotten about you and am happy to be able to say many of you have aksed me when my next post would be.  I think I can say I’m a blogger now!  <brushing my shoulders off>  I realize I often now think in blog post topics (just like one might think in status updates).  Like ooh, I gotta write about that. and this.  So much I needed to make a list.  So here are a few future posts you can look forward to in random order:

  • Affiliate marketing 101
  • Reality shows
  • Social media
  • Mo Money Mo Problems?
  • BFFs
  • Fitness

But today, I’ll just give you a few updates on what’s been going on.  Wedding stuff has been going well.  I’m extremely surprised at how easy it has been so far.  I’m sure some things will go wrong day of, but for now, everything has been in my control and thus very organized and it’s actually been super fun.  Last weekend we went to pick out tuxes for Dan, the groomsmen, and fathers.  My dad had asked me if he gets to wear a tall black hat, and after thinking about it for awhile, I realized he was referring to a top hat.  No dad, you’re not a ringmaster.  (parents have never been to a wedding)

House hunting on the other hand, has been extremely stressful and not as fun as I thought it would be.  Our first ever offer was turned down and the place eventually foreclosed and it turned up as a short sale.  Our second place was turned down and after months of looking, we were drained.  We had actually emailed our agents after the second failure saying we were going to take a break.  Fate would have that the owners came back with a counter, and after negotiations, they ended up accepting!  HOORAY!

or not?

So I always imagined, if we have the money, and someone agrees to sell, just give me the keys right?  Wrong.  Even after agreement, there were a lot of milestones to overcome, and issues we came across, and one day last week we even thought we might have to back out and both live in my 500 sq ft studio as man and wife.  Luckily, that problem magically disappeared (I think there could have been some bribery involved).  For now, we are looking like we’re in the clear, but we can’t really say for sure until we get the keys.  Our potential closing date is April 6 so I will have to write more about the actual place once we have it for sure.  And you’ll all be invited to the BYOC housewarming (bring your own chair, as we’ll have no furniture- literally, nothing).

happier things

Dan and I attended the wedding show last weekend and it was not as great as I had hoped.  However, we got some good pictures of a bunch of cakes.  Here are some for your enjoyment:

Did you know wedding cakes cost on average $5-6 per slice?  So for 100 person wedding, it would be about $500- 600.  That’s insane!  We are hoping most of you will be well on your way by the time we cut cake and won’t notice that it’s not gourmet…

Engagement session

Jan. 2, 2010 we enlisted the help of Niphon to take some engagement pictures at ocean shores.  We hapened to be there for a couple days during New Years with a group at a friend’s cabin.  The whole time we were there though, it was raining so I didn’t think it was going to happen.  But as we were leaving, the sun peaked out.  So in sneakers, hair undone, and sleepy-eyed, we hopped out of the car for a quick 1o minutes.

I think we got a couple of usable shots though under my awesome direction and Niphon’s ability to blur the background.  Puppy Pie did surprisingly well and did some good “looking at angela lovingly” shots.  Also, turning all pictures into sepia makes everything better!

I saved the best ones for our save the date cards and wedding website (which are coming very soon)!

These were super fun to look at, but I think the even better ones (the majority) were the blooper shots.  Let’s review:

Dan looks pretty concerned here.  We look like we’re breaking up.

Can you tell it was a windy day?

I think my hair looks pretty awesome here, but this picture is not going to work.

This is my sister’s favorite and she can’t stop laughing every time she sees it.  Dan’s trying to sniff me or something, but he obviously doesn’t like what he smells.

OK, that’s enough dear, put me down!

Special thanks to Niphon who took the time to do these for us, and to Sara and Luke for inviting us to their cabin for New Years, providing a great backdrop!
